Views Pending Care

A man with one leg longer than the other
a woman opening and shutting blinds at the hospital
stop to talk to each other.

The doctor popping everyone else’s pills
the traffic cop brought in on a gurney
used to love the same school teacher.

The chaplain hiding his addicted history
prayed with the mother of a bald-headed girl
both wanting not to want too much.

Volunteering at the information desk
having lost two husbands to greed
Alic knew all the answers.

For every spoke in the wheel of a wheelchair
there is an opinion about life and death
all of them must be tested out.
