Seen For What It Is

Bare bones of an apple or an orange
the bare bones of a grey sky in January
the square mind of a mn of bare fact
misses what he dismisses.

Put aside by the Romans and Greeks
put in the mouth, chewed by the teeth
a dream analyzed by a psychiatrist
separating us from us.

A book written like a dictionary
sentences looked up on the internet
falling flat like medieval philosophy
it is what it is what it is.

Let me touch you with strong drink
let me think about you unfettered
let winter flow into the depths of desire
I will take off my tattered ego and love you.
