Endlessly Liberty Park

Not enough sun yet to fry
too much shade to feel heartily
the ought shy of must
the want short of emptiness
morn full of spaciousness.

Ducks float by geese fly
the peacocks sound like tortured
toddlers being forced
to time-travel into old age
the pond is packed with sagacity.

I came here to hardly try
succeeding until the tumult started
the violence cannot be ignored
with ferocity encapsulated
layers literally vibrating.

And so I wrote a page of notes
eager to see the world in a park
fowl-fighting darkening escape
alighting under surface off path
as orderly as life and death.

Unclear tail and muzzle cry
commencement finishing troubled
lines of sight laying out
borders shadows shortening
immortality to liberty.
