Go Slow

Go slow.
Get there when you get there.
Go slow and
get there when you get there.
Avoid the nightmare and
arrive without fanfare.

New stuff
pushing out all the old stuff.
New stuff always
pushes out the old stuff.
You think it’s progress but
it is mostly a bluff.

[refrain]
A penny for your thoughts
a nickel for your labor
a dime if you keep your mouth shut
and a big quarter for a little dollar.

[verse]
Are we driving
in circles? It all looks the same.
Are we driving
in semi-circles of the same?
Fast food and banks and
big boxes in a shell game.

Go slow
when the economy picks up.
Go very slow
when things get hairy.
Don’t get foreclosed when
the bubble blows.

A penny for your thoughts
a nickel for your labor
a dime if you keep your mouth shut
and a big quarter for a little dollar.
